FROM BAD TO WORSE

I was unable to get CatchUp although I am a full subscriber. I was advised to bring in my decoder. The consultant had a problem even connecting my device to her system...Warning bells !! She said I should leave the decoder with her for 2 - 4 hours to load Catch-up. 3 and a half hours later I went back to her. Not only did I not have Catch-up but my entire decoder was wiped clean of all my as yet un-watched recordings since December. At no time did she tell me there was any risk of losing data. So I had effectively wasted four hours, plus travelling time and endless frustration just to go from bad to worse. She could offer no explanation. I saw a manager who was equally clueless and who could only offer a muttered apology. When I got home I plugged in the decoder only to find that she had also changed all my settings and I could only get half the stations! Another costly cell phone call to another consultant and once again, after about 35 minutes of wasted time and several reboots...no result.

Clearly the consultants have very poor training and no customer s****s and even managers are unable to assist. I'm not convinced that paying R 800+ per month for such frustration is a good idea. Their answer to every problem is "bring in your device so we can check it". Please don't because you'll only end up going from BAD to WORSE !! Judging by the huge amount of people who visit DSTV they are clearly not getting it right. I had considered an Explora but can't begin to imagine the problems I would then encounter. No thanks.....DSTV is not worth the frustration.
