For who knows what reason DSTV/Multichoice constantly keeps on changing both their website as well as app - and it seems as if each time the previous version worked much better than the "new and improved version"?! (Probably because each version starts with problems, then they get resolved with time - probably only due to their frustrated clients having to complain about it and point out the numerous faults each time - and then just when everyone gets used to that specific version they go and change it again - which obviously costs them lots of money which they then just simply pass on as more costs to their clients (clearly if you look at the extremely inflated monopoly-type of prices!). To top this they also include ********** principles when it comes to the self service options in terms of activating and deactivating of holiday homes... when you (used to be able) to use the "new self service portal" - it would give you the option of only "activating for ONE day" (noting that it GIVES YOU THE OPTION of selecting ONLY ONE day) - for which it would then charge you R26 and a few cents (clearly displayed before you select to activate as the cost for ONLY ONE DAY). Then comes your invoice and you will see that they in fact charged you for 2 days - one for the day of activation and another for the day of deactivation. The call centre explained to me that this only applies when you select the ONE day option as "the system doesn't allow them" to activate and deactivate on the same day (if so - then why give one day as an option in the first place - and even worse - why then state, before your clients makes a decision, that the amount will be for one day and not 2 when you KNOW you'll be charging for 2 days?! I.e. if you rather just be transparent about things, then at least people will know that their service is indeed still activated the next day (for which they are paying for without even knowing it!) - as no one will even know that their service is still active the following day! It got better when the next time that I then did select 2 days instead of one (as as explained above they then changed their website and app that was just working fine at that stage in the meantime yet again - which was faulty as on the new version of the self service portal as it would request you to "choose your package" without it giving you the chance anywhere on that page to indeed "choose your package", i.e. you get stuck and can't move on to the next page... plain stupidity... which meant I had to use the old self service portal again that time round - which gives you the a minimum 2day activation option (which is rightly so as explained above), however I then ended up getting charged for 3 days instead of 2 in any case??!! Which means that 1. The call centre either **** to me or didn't understand their own system and 2. It clearly proves that DSTV/Multichoice deliberately set up this system in such a way to force an additional day's charge, each time, out of every singly client's ongoing holiday home activations and deactivations (which obviously adds up to many millions of Rands each year)!! Pure *****. What can more can you say...

Best regards,
Good day Pieter
I apologise for the delayed response.
As per the feedback received from our online support.
Previously, the activation of Holiday Home defaults at two days. If we disconnect at first day, you will not be billed.
In the case of two days, the system will bill the account for two days but reverse the second day when the service is disconnected.
If possible, please send us the screen shots to *** to prove that we have indeed billed for two days. This feedback will be referred to our online support team.
Thank you for your time and patience.
Kind regards
Dinah
