FORCED TO PAY FOR A SERVICE NOT BEING USED
Multichoice never stops surprising me! I usually pay the new months subscription a good week before the new month starts. My family and I went away the last week of April into the 1st week in May.. After making paymet for May. When we returned for some reason our dish was not connecting. We tried fixing it but it seems we need an installer to come out to the property. I called Mulitchoice advising them, that we have not used the service at all for the Month of May and would like to be disconnected until we sort out the problem. I advised them we will pay for 8 days even tho we have not used the service but would not like to waste any more money on a service we not using. The response was that \you can only disconnect at the end of a month". I then asked that I be down graded to a lower package to minimise our loss. I was then advised that downgrades can only happen at the end of the month too. So basically they telling a client who has been with them for 10 years\""we don't care that you not using the service as long as we get our subscription fee\"" Funny how they are prepared to do upgrades at any time of the month!"""
We do apologies for the inconvenience you experienced in this regard .
DStv service is a month-to-month contract - when you pay your subscription, the contract for that month is fixed.
We've now implemented a tool to schedule your upgrades, downgrades or suspension of services .You may phone us or use self-service at any time to request the change, which we will implement on your next payment date.
We have escalated your concerns to the relevant department for investigation.
Thank you for taking the time to point out our service success. As we continually strive to improve our service, feedback such as yours is extremely valuable.
Regards
Rupert
