When you call DSTV on ***, the first thing you do is enter your ID/ smartcard number. I always us my ID as I do not memorize smartcard numbers. The automated menu directs you to press 5 for help with Box Office. Pressing 5 gets you another automated message that tells you how to use whatsapp and there is nobody available to answer your call, so you press 0 to go back to the main menu. You then press 3 to speak to a consultant ( really just someone answering the phone as I found that they all interperted the manual completely different) and the 1st thing they ask for:: YOUR ID NUMBER.
You then get told that there is nobody attending the box office direct number *** or even to take your call. Your request will be escallated and you can expect a response in 3 days.
This is not what I want, nor expect for roughly R10 000 per year. I demand better service or you kan kiss my money goodbye as well and retrench another 250 people who seemingly got the jobs on the basis that they simply showed up and not actually qualified to handle customer queries, or understand the manual ( I previousl got 3 different solutions to the same problem after 4 hours of phone calls and 3 consultants later) My call minutes.... my time ... my money
My most recent request was to cancel a movie {which I rented and paid for and did not watch} on one of my decoders and allow me to rent it on my other decoder ( because the latest decoder is no longer compatible with my previous installation to view both on my second TV....None of which you get told when you purchase the latest decoder!!!!!)
When I called with the simple request to refund me so that I can rent same movie on another decoder, First I was told that this cannot be done, second call.. Please phone box office on *** Third call Closed.. phone tomorrow
This is no longer acceptable. I am investigating other options and will cancel my subscription when I find something else. Typical example of the complacency that Big corporations get when they run a monopoly. Take 5 Million subscribers at R900 p/m = R4.5 Billion Rand per month!!!!! What are you doing with this money?????No No No No Multichoice, we want better service or you and all your shareholders can go without our money.
