False debt in my name

I app**** for a homeloan this week, had a credit check done. Found out Multichoice had listed R7349 debt on my name, where I do not even own a TV. Contacted Multichoice Customer Care, who said there is no such amount on their system. Asked Multichoice to resolve with Credit bureaus, they asked me to email them with the information. I have not had a single reply from them. I feel this is shocking, as their huge mistake can cause me to have major repercussions with my homeloan. My lawyers have advised that legal action can be taken against Multichoice for this error.
