Failure to close account
I recently did a change of ownership with Multichoice to transfer an account from my name into my uncle's name. I received confirmation of this being completed on the 15th of October a day before the monthly payment date. I later discovered that only one decoder was transferred into my uncle's name and one decoder was still left in my name even though in the forms we completed both decoders with both serial numbers and both smart card numbers were specified. I then arrange to have the 2nd decoder transferred to my uncle's name along with the positive balance on the account only to find out a few days later only the money was transferred and not the decoder. After another email sent I managed to get the 2nd decoder transferred. I today received a rude awakening showing the account showing as in arrears on my credit report. I called Multichoice and advised if the correct process was followed this account would not be in arrears and requested for this negative balance to be transferred to the correct account as my account was to been have closed and a R0 balance showing. I would like this account to be reflecting the correct balance should have been closed since 15th October.
