Explorer issues for the 3rd time
Less than 6 months ago during the lockdown period I encountered problems with my DSTV Explorer. I call Multichoice choice and after a long discussion with them, whoever that was helping me telephonically was unable to resolve my problem. I was then referred to the nearest outlet which in my case is Maponya Mall. I took my decoder there. I spend almost 3 hours at the Maponya Mall shop, they could not advise what the problem was, meaning why was I not able to connect. They then advised that I buy a reconditioned Explorer for R600.00 I asked them if this would help and if so how long it was going to last me without giving me problems, they said for at least 2 years. I bought it and left them with the old one. Yesterday this Explorer started giving me issues again I called Multichoice and was assisted by a very very humble and beautiful lady, she took me through the steps and ultimately the issue was resolved. This morning I light my TV and it immediately goes off same problem as yesterday. I called again and spoke to another beautiful lady who took me through the steps again this time the DSTV could not connect she did try her best until she said to me take it to Maponya mall. I did that. Without an explanation the guy who helped me immediately wiped out all my recordings I asked him why he did that he said he cannot do anything without 1st removing all the recordings I have he said the reason for the decoder problems is because the harddrive takes a certain amount of recordings thereafter it did what it cannot function hence I was having issues. I asked him why was I told that hard-drive take certain amount of recordings he said I should have been told. ( not sure by who) He restarted the machine . His advise to me was that I should go back again in 2 weeks time and they will exchange it with another 2and hand decoder which is only 100 or 1000 megabytes. The reason for my complaint is that I am a pensioner I chose this budget because it suits my needs as a pensioner why was I not told from the beginning that the TV blocks out when there are too many recordings, why are we buying Explorers if they are no help to us? There are a lot of programs on TV as well as series how as a pensioner will I be able to watch all at the same time? I have said it before and will say it again Multichoice is doing this because they do not have competition, if they had they would have long pulled their socks up. Right now this decoder is not allowing me to check a weeks schedule for all the programs I watch so that I can set up the recordings. It gives 1 days info meaning that I cannot schedule for the week. When I try that it says no information available, what is that? We use our Sassa Grant's to pay for something that would entertain us so avoid depression but this is becoming a nightmare. Will you kindly rectify this or advise as what I should do in this case. I DON'T HAVE FUNDS TO BUY ANOTHER DECODERI also not sure if that would solve the issues I have currently.
