Explora Ultra - stay away

We took up the latest price lock deal with the new explora ultra decoder. It was installed last Thursday and was absolutely the worst decision we ever took! You can not remote blast as the rf output port is no longer. Hmm, so maybe they want us to extra view with a decoder in each room, but wait, the lnb is a 2 port, so only 1 extra view. As the extra view is for the tenant, so we can watch in ONE room. The installer suggested we leave our 4 port lnb connected (and he promptly takes the 2 port with him). We get told to buy a modulator, which surprise surprise does not work. Luckily for us, we run an hdmi cable to our bedroom. Or so we thought.... we can watch or hear, but not both. And if you switch the TV in the bedroom on, the TV in the lounge loses signal. So, we have a decoder that we can stream Netflix, but you can't watch... Today I queued for almost 2 hours at the Randburg customer care centre (guess we are not the only ones with a problem) and am glad to report that we are happily back to the explora 2a And to confirm, a colleague had the same decoder installed on Sunday morning and uninstalled on Sunday afternoon. Honestly, if it was not for the sport and Kyknet, I would certainly no longer be a customer
