Explora keeps saying Hard drive *******

<p>My partner bought us a DSTV Explora about close to 2 years ago... was working perfectly... until about 2 / 3 months ago... we woke up to an error message saying the hard drive is *******. Much to our horror everything we had recorded, our catch up titles etc that we had been waiting for was now gone with the reset. So highly irritated we start to build our collection of recordings from scratch... only for it to happen again and again and AGAIN.... this morning when switching on the explora and it had that "your hard drive is *******" It was the last straw. I just about had a nervous breakdown!!!!!!

Reviewer Update

Well since the 18th October 2016 I'm yet to receive feedback from Multichoice. Been another 4 months of "hard drive *******" and us having to reboot and lose everything we download and record. I am so disappointed in This DSTV explorer I can't even begin to explain our frustration. Multichoice, if u really value your consumers u would get hold of me and insist I take this explorer to The nearest dealership to get it exchanged. After talking to DSTV the informed us we must take the explorer in and they must replace the hard drive and we must pay for it. But no, I will not pay in for a product that I paid for to fulfill a function that isn't doing what I paid for it to do. I'll sooner take my query to Carte Blanche. Just FYI... I googled... my dstv explorer says "hard drive *******" and was stunned at how many people have the same issue. I suggest Multichoice recall these machines like ford has done with their faulty cars before it gets to the point where we take it further. Look forward to hearing from u.
