In January 2016 I cancelled my subscription to DSTV. The amount for January was paid but unfortunately my TV was destroyed by lightning and DSTV could not have my account in credit. So I lost the payment for the remainder of January. No problem. Now after 9 months I receive a SMS from a collection agent that I have been handed over for R389.50. On enquiring form DSTV what that is, I am told that it is for February until they disconnected my DSTV. How can I pay for their incompetence. They are exploiting people. I will never resubscribe to DSTV and surely will tell all my friends as well.

Good day Johnny
Thank you for your patience whilst we looked into your query.
We don't have a request showing on our records to schedule for the disconnection of service. For this reason, your service remained active till the 15 February 2016. This resulted your DStv account to have an overdue balance of R389.50 due to non-payment.
You're required to settle the balance owed in your DStv account. Once the account is paid, a request will be sent to our Delisting department to send you a confirmation letter for ITC purposes.
Please do contact us should you require any further assistance.
Best regards
Dinah
