DSTV will hand good-paying citizens over to debt collectors without making any contact to inform them of what is actually outstanding and why.

I am one of those people who care quite a lot about paying promptly - in fact I pay in advance. Yet somehow I was handed over to debt collectors, with no attempt made by DSTV to get the sum of R317.51 out of me. This person calls me before 8am whilst Im driving to work, so I ask for a statement to understand what went wrong as I cancelled my DSTV YEARS ago. Nothing came on email.

Now I get an SMS from them with a login to a portal to pay the R317.51 - I log in and now I apparently owe them R822.12. Don't ask me how/what/why/where? I don't mind paying if I owe them BUT the fact that no one made any attempt from DSTV to explain what was outstanding and then handing me over to debt collectors who cannot answer any of my questions is a low blow.
