DSTV stands for (Disgusting/Self-interested TV)

Hang your head in SHAME DSTV. I am utterly disgusted. Your complete indifference to customer service is why you will eventually lose all your customers to alternative services.

1. I urgently needed to repair replace my decoder. There is ONE service centre in the entire Ethekweni area. so before driving 80km to Umhlanga Rocks, I phone to check they are open. THEY DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONE.

2. I call the main Call Centre number. After repeatedly listening to IRRELEVANT information about my account status and how much I must pay, and reach an agent who is working from home in Nelson Mandela Bay, who is unable to assist, but suggests I contact the Randburg Centre (700km away).

3, Randburg call centre is also unable to explain why Umhlanga "service" centre do not answer their phone.

I have now wasted all my cellular airtime and left stranded with NO WAY TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.

DSTV is symptomatic of the WORST characteristics of South African companies, seeking to enrich themselves while trying to drive their customers to Websites, Apps and other USELESS channels.

DISGUSTING... and so typical of South African business and government agencies.
