DSTV Service Disaster

I have an insured Explora PVR that malfunctioned recently. I took it to the DSTV service centre in Randburg, and having queued for a long time, the swapped it for a reconditioned identical mode. Having waited while the replacement was configured I took it home and reconnected it to my AV system. This unit turned out to also have a faulty hard drive. I was then forced to disconnect everything then go back to Randburg, queue, swap machine again, reconfigure then go home & reconnect. Unbelievably, this second replacement was also faulty (non functioning hard drive). So I then spent an hour talking to a call centre consultant who seemed incapable of understanding the problem or remembering basic details of the conversation. Having been put on hold for lengthy periods no help of any description was forthcoming other than being sent back again to the Randburg service centre. I drove back there (having disconnected the Explora AGAIN) and tried to explain my dismal experience to the receptionist - don’t Multichoice quality check their swap out decoders? Clearly not. Despite the acute nature of the situation, the reception manager wanted me to join the back of their long queue again which seems totally unreasonable. Unqble to waste even more of my time today I was forced to leave. I wasn’t even allowed to leave the faulty decoder for them to look at. I used to think Multichoice was a spot of light in the customer service stakes. Now they’ve become disastrously bad. No wonder Netflix etc are killing their subscriber base. I want to throw my third faulty decoder at the nearest wall and to cancel my 20 year subscription.
