DSTV requesting money for cancelled subscriptions
I am being harassed by DSTV consultants asking me for proof of cancellation of my DSTV subscription which I cancelled 2 years ago. They are claiming that I owe R4000+.
When I cancelled it they kept calling me to find out if I want to reactive and I told them no. Now after 2 years they want proof of this cancellation and want to know why I have not been paying a service that is not even active.
I even checked the DSTV site with my old login details and it shows I have no linked subscriptions, yet they are still calling to request payments.

03 Nov 2020, 15:44BEWARE - An update for all.
DSTV (apparently being represented by Blake Group - blake.co.za) is now indicating that my service was disconnected due to non-payment, since they cannot find proof of cancellation.
They are therefore requesting payment for "disconnected" services for the past 2 years, even though they confirmed I haven't used it since it was "disconnected".

DSTV has subsequently advised that they can see I have requested a cancellation, however, for some reason, the account was not closed from their side completely. After a year, "something" happened and it reactivated.
As I understand DSTV accounts can be in "Active", "Suspended", "Closed" status. If you cancelling, ensure that you receive an email that the account is "Closed" to prevent a similar situation from happening to you.
