DSTV - Pathetic Service: Room for improvement!
I have been with DSTV for a few years now, and have not once received good service. They initially sold the Explorer package to me, advertising R920.00 per month, and you can have ALL the channels, box office and free showmax etc. Not once do they mention a pro-rata fee of R1500 going off on your account two months after having the package. Not once on the call recording and they don't make you sign any documents either, everything is done telephonically now. When I went into the DSTV branch, some of the consultants were sleeping and you could see they weren't going to assist us either. Then to top it off the FREE products you get, in the first few months Showmax wasn't activated on my decoder, so I registered on the Showmax website, only to be charged on my DSTV account, month after month. I phone in once again, threw a tantrum [that is the only way they understand] and then a very nice you lady requested for the Shomax charges to be reversed and stopped. However after a while my Showmax was deactivated and Showmax advised that it was because they received no payment from DSTV. I advise that I have an explorer package it is supposed to be free. Last night 02/08/2019 my Fiancé phoned in and spoke to Showmax on a live chat at the same time, trying to fix the mess and the lack of communication between the two service providers. The DSTV agent was bluntly rude. Clearly wasn't trained on service, how to service an anger customer, and even when he is shouting not to be arrogant! My Fiancé wasn't shouting even, he was speaking loud into the speaker and said clearly "I want this fixed Now" and he asked "Why can't DSTV switch it on" and that agent keeps quiet, whenever a question is asked she keeps quiet. When he was talking loud to her because he started getting annoyed with her attitude towards the situation, she said "Sir I cannot understand you, you are shouting", during their whole conversation she was interrupting him, she didn't listen to the what the problem was, client servicing tips: Listen to your client / Understand their need / Relate to their frustration [Put yourself in their shoes] / Try and resolve the problem. Maybe if R1500 + her DSTV monthly premium went off in one month or she had to struggle for almost a year to get something fixed, she would be able to relate.
