DSTV.... Pathetic Excuse For Customer Service

I have been trying to solve a problem with regards to my DSTV now app. We have bought a brand new phone, broke the seal and unboxed it. We have not even loaded a sim card into it, just loaded our email address on Google Play and downloaded the DSTV now app.

I then proceeded to log in with my DSTV user details and as soon as I wanted to start watching, this Authentication error came up, saying this phone is registered to another user account and we must log out with the details I have used now and log in with the previous credentials and remove the phone from that account, which will allow me to use it with my details. But it's a brand new phone!!!! How can it be registered to another user, if we just unboxed it!

I then made the huge mistake to try and contact Multichoice for some assistance, I went from one client adviser to the next, each one telling me I have to log onto the chat and then they will be able to help me. I lost my cool, because why can't you help me over the phone right now, why must I have a chit chat typing session... I would've done that if I wanted to instead of phoning in myself. DSTV has us paying a lot of money, yet their client services are pathetic.

I asked if I could speak to a supervisor and after being placed on hold for almost 20 minutes, I put the phone down. Utterly disappointed and very mad at the fact that we as the paying public can be taken for such fools.

I just want to know why my new phone is apparently registered already to a DSTV account because it is not possible.... and how do I get it removed or wiped!

I do not understand how the managers and fat cats at Multichoice can have people answer the phones to clients, yet they are prescribed answers to give us and want to have you rather chat with a machine... now I know why so many people are cancelling their DSTV subscriptions and looking for viewing entertainment elsewhere.

Dear Edward, I do not understand why I must make contact with your Live Chat team, this is completely unacceptable. Are you telling me ALL your customers who have problems make use of your Live Chat team when they have problems with their DSTV.. what about old people who do not have facebook or twitter.... or those who do not have access to these channels of communicating??? I do not believe that this is, OR SHOULD BE, the only way to communicate with DSTV when a customer has a problem, you have various call centers with lots of people answering the phones... why are they there then? Are they all just getting paid to revert all your callers to the Live Chat system?? Unacceptable!! I do not want to chat with someone by typing, I want to speak to someone on the phone... that Sir is customer service!!!
