18 Oct 2020, 12:13Hi Tilana,
We were unable to get hold of you telephonically.
You should get the same services, content on Box Office and Catch should be the same, if both devices are the same DStv package and services. However, what will make the content to be less and one device has this and the other does not have, is each decoder's download process.
Box-office movies and DStv Catch up titles are not pre-loaded onto Explora PVR hard drive and needs to be downloaded over a certain period of time via satellite.
It is very important that your signal strength in all the tuners is above 90% to ensure the decoder is receiving sufficient signal to perform accordingly. This will then improve the download process of the Catch up content and Box Office titles.
Check that all cables are securely connected.
Please check the signal strength with the steps below:
1. Press help button on remote control unit2. Scroll down and park on "General Information"3. Press arrow pointing to the right4. Scroll down to turner status5. Press arrow pointing right and park on turner 1, 2 and 3.
Most importantly the Signal Strength must be between 85% to 95%, Signal Quality must be 100%. If strength is low, we suggest that the installer be called.
What are the functions of each tuner of the DStv Explora.
Tuner 1 = LIVE TV
Tuner 2 = recordings
Tuner 3 = DStv Catch Up, BoxOffice, Apps and TV Guide.
You are kindly advised to do a hard reboot on your decoder. Please do the following to hard reboot your decoder:
· Switch your decoder off
· Pull out smartcard
· Un-plug the decoder from the main plug
· Wait for about 45 seconds to a minute
· Plug the decoder on the main plug
· Switch on the decoder
· Wait until insert smartcard message reflects on your TV screen
