DSTV out of control
I cancelled my DSTV account in Jan 2019, however out-of-the-blue DSTV starting debiting my bank account from May 2020 for a service I never authorised. I have only been able to speak to their customer service department via the online chat facility and have brought up the issue on 3 separate occasions (2 July - Kamogelo, 16 July - Maremane and 28 July - Kgomotso). On each occasion I was assured that that the account would be cancelled, the debit orders would stop and that I would receive a refund within a few working days. This refund never came, and another debit order was processed on 28 July. I have since taken the step to instruct my bank to reverse the debit orders at which point DSTV had the audacity to send me a SMS instructing me to pay the outstanding amount. What I see here is either intentional ***** or woeful incompetence. If it is not possible for DSTV to execute a cancellation and refund which have been agreed by the customer service department on 3 separate occasions, it is quite clear that there is no control in the accounts department and customer support staff in this organisation. DSTV management are obviously ill-equipped and out of their depth.

Many thanks for your response, I did indeed see the refund reflected a couple of days ago. However, I noticed that the refund also included an amount for a payment my bank had already reversed. So in effect, the refund was R 819 too much. If you share a payment link or some bank details with me, I can send the R 819 amount back to you.
Kind regards
Kyle
