DSTV Now App Support

<p> Good day,</p> <p>On the 1st of August 2015 I logged a call with DSTV Now support because I downloaded content from the App and it played until halfway.</p> <p>The response I got was that the App is not supported on my Device(HTC), this was from Zinzi.</p> <p>I responded by saying that it is not specified anywhere that HTC is not supported for this App and how come the content played at the first place.</p> <p>The same person said they will escalate to Technical team.</p> <p>After a couple of days, the content was playing on the same HTC with no issues.</p> <p>Second time,</p> <p>On the 10th of May, I logged a call with DSTV now because the app was sending me an error”Error acquiring licence” when I try to watch videos. Reference number for this call was ( ********** ).</p> <p>May 17th I was asked to update the app but there was no new update version available.</p> <p>24th May I was asked to provide the OS and App version by Nhlanhla(DStv Now Team), which I did.</p> <p>31st of May I asked for feedback, there was no response.</p> <p>26 July I asked for feedback again. The response I got was “Please be advised that DStv does not support HTC devices.” By Lunga (DStv Now Team).</p> <p>DSTV Now not being supported on HTC seems like a response that I always get when people are not sure what the issue is.</p> <p>Why was I told that DSTV Now does not support HTC on the first call and later on when technical people are consulted then it starts working?</p> <p>If you don’t support anything such information should be documented in something like a release document which specifies what exactly is supported and not supported and that information should be easily available on the App Downloads.</p> <p>You don’t just tell a client that you don’t support something just because you can’t fix it. The least you can do is ask me to bring my phone so you can troubleshoot. I know HTC is not the most popular phone, but not supporting HTC is not a line you can just throw around unless if you have supporting documentation.</p> <p>I’m really frustrated with this issue and it has been open for a while. Making a phone call would have really shown that you understand that I am a paying customer and it would not have hurt, that is how you deal with client. Not one line to say you don’t support HTC, just because you cant fix the problem.</p> <p> </p> <p>I hope to hear from someone that really understands client support.</p>
