DSTV not any wiser of their own errors
Now we all know the ups and downs of DSTV. Well it does not come as any surprise that we had to experience another down from them.
On 19 September 2019 our services were cut without any notice on their side. As per normal we contacted the contact centre and all was resolved and we were connected again, the next week services were cut and reconnected 4 times. We could not understand to what the reason would be for our services to be cut as DSTV is getting paid via debit order. With every call to the contact centre they could not pick up that the account was in arrears and conncected us again.
We then started to do or own investigation and found that DSTV has never put through their debit order and that their ssytem is cutting us automatically. Our last call to them was on Saturday 29 Septemeber 2019 and 50min later on the call to them they were still not any wiser on why are account is cut if the account does not reflect any arrears.
And once again as with all the other calls this call was also cut from them and with no final resolve. I then decided that I am fed-up with them and decided to take the 30min drive to them in order to resolve this face to face.
Well, well, as it is with DSTV promises are made and you are being assured that all will be resolved and working once back home. Still not convinced I leave the premises and arrived home. Plugged in the new decoder as I had that exchanged as well. Happiness is on my face as something is actually working, running to the back room switching on the extra view - doom and gloom starts to sets in again. No picture is coming up and that horrible " no hearbeat" message box is on the screen. I turn around to the main living area where the primary decoder is to ensure I have plugged the cable in to the right jacks, but to my dismay the screen that had picture on it a moment ago is back with a message block indicating that the services has been suspended.
Needless to say that I had to get back on the phone to phone them and get this resolved.
No to phone them to get to person that helped you face-to-face is even more horrifying than getting through to the call centre.
But after about 40 minutes I succeeded - and after another 2 hours only then all has been resolved.
The last bit to see is if the arrears charges will be reversed - I do not see why we should be held accountable for DSTV neglegance for not putting through debit orders beause they had a system upgrade.
Going through this driving to the office and resolve their errors and telling them what they did not do and done took 6hrs.
I want to name names - but not gonna. The people that helped face-to-face and whos lives I made a living hell as mine was for a week has received personal mails from me thanking them that I showed them their errors in order to resolve our account.
