DSTV MULTICHOICE poor service
I'm very dissatisfied with the service received from DSTV MULTICHOICE.
I contacted the dstv call centre one month in advance to arrange that my payment be debited from an alternative account (Capitec) as I had intentions of closing the one it was being debited from at the time (FNB). The consultant confirmed that it has been changed on their system and that the debit would be from the new account. However at the end of that month my payment was debited from the old account which did not have any funds for this debit order. Mind you, this is an overdraft account. So payment was made to DSTV even though I didn't personally avail money for this payment. Thereafter both DSTV and FNB have been sending me messages of outstanding balances (FNB with interest). Frustrated, I make a payment to FNB and think that by the end of the second month the payment will reflect on my MULTICHOICE account and that by then they would have their ducks in a row and debit correctly, from Capitec where I had funds ready. But sadly, this did not happen. Again, MULTICHOICE made an attempt to debit from FNB! So here I am, two returned debit orders and unnecessary banking charges later, requesting a full balance statement and amount payable upon the cancellation of my price lock contract. The consultant tells me that she is unable to help me but will get someone from the appropriate department to contact me. After one week, I haven't been contacted and my service gets cut off. I contact dstv, request the balance payable, receive it, make a payment and service is resumed. A week after this, which is this week, my service gets suspended again. I contact them, receive a new balance payable, pay it and service is resumed. Then I request a cancellation again and the consultant gives me the price lock call centre number. This line had me holding for up to 5 minutes with each call without speaking to an agent. Then I send a message to the price lock number (which indicates an interest in getting a subscription). Within seconds a consultant contacts me- so you are quick to make a new sale but fail to care for your current customers- is the feeling I'm getting. I tell her that I would like to cancel. She is unable to assist and tells me that she will "escalate the matter" to the appropriate department. I request a reference number for the call and receive my customer number. I sent an email to dstv help and told the consultant calling me that I would like to cancel. Once again I'm told that the matter will be escalated to the correct department. I still haven't received any follow up contact. Meanwhile my bill is running. MULTICHOICE, help my asseblief!
