DStv (MultiChoice) gives less at a time when others are helping by giving more
Unlike other communication and internet service providers who give you more value for money, DStv (Multichoice) is doing just the opposite.
One of the best entertainment channels on my DStv Compact Plus bouquet is being dropped.
This is part of the idiotic announcement provided to viewers: “ITV Choice will terminate on the 4 of June 2020. Find similar British shows on BBC Brit (120), BBC First (119), BBC Lifestyle (174), M-Net (101) and Showmax.com.”
It is reminiscent to the quote attributed to Marie Antoinette: "If they have no bread, let them eat cake".
It is a slap in the face for pensioners, those who have reduced or no income at this time and for those who:
(a) Cannot afford the Premium package where BBC First and M-Net are available. Compact Plus is already coming in at over R 500.00 per month,
(b) Are in a rural area where fast internet of at least 10 Mbps is available, or affordable, to be able to subscribe to Showmax (at an extra cost).
This during the lock-down period when DStv (MultiChoice) must be doing very well with additional subscribers as most of us are confined to our homes.
The attraction with Satellite TV is to be able to watch in rural areas where there is poor or no internet service.
Unless: (i) DStv (MultiChoice) will make BBC First and M-Net part of the DStv Compact Plus bouquet, and/or
(ii) Offer a pensioner’s discount on their prices.
But I am not going to be holding my breath.
It is now over a month since DStv's response.
From past experience, I didn't really expect any feedback.
