Dstv (Multi choice) experience

I paid my subscription ( Compact ) in December 2019. Then it lapsed. I did not continue with my subscription I let it to lapse, funny thing is dtsv gave me extra few days then later on when I check my balance I owed dstv R102.00 .

Fast forward to March I enquired about my balance I was told that I owe R102.00 I asked where is this coming from because dstv is supposed to work on prepaid terms like cell phone airtime. No payment no play.

None the less I paid the balance owed of R102.00going + reconnection fee of R50.00. Plus the subscription fee of R399.this payment was made on 01 April 2020.

I received this message below; Feel every moment with DStv! To stay connected, please pay R399.00 before 16/04 using ref. no ***9. To pay: payat.io/dstv/***9. or dial *120*68584#.

When I made inquiries why do I have to pay on the 16th April , I was told that because my month to month runs by 16th each month. Fair enough. I asked since I paid on the 1st April wouldn't this mean that I lost out on at least 15 days or so. Does the dstv not run month to month. I was told that I lost or forfeit 15 days when I subscribed on the 1 April ,this is unfair business practice. No wonder people migrate to Netflix.

So this means that if dstv subscription overlap with couple of days I have to pay them R102.00. When I decided to reconnect based on my abilities or when I get paid then I lose out 15days.

In conclusion

I expected that if I pay my compact subscription by 1st April it should end by 1st May .

I expect that if I don't pay they should cut off my subscription immediately .I should not accumulate credit.
