DSTV is the butt crack of pay to view services

On the 4th April 2024, my decoder hard drive crashed. So like any good customer I called DSTV on the 6th April and took them up on their offer of a price lock package. Was surprised to hear that installation would take place the very next Monday. I had a conference so my wife took time off, and waited for the installer. By 13h00 I checked on the DSTV tracker app feature and saw the installation was complete and everything was working. Surprised my wife hadn’t told me I called her to find out that no sign of an installer. I called the call centre again. 5 cut calls later I got someone to escalate the issue and a promise of a call back. Wait one full week, call them again. Make another enquiry. Get told the installer has a been appointed. Will be done on the 16th. Called the installer. Dude doesn’t even work for DSTV anymore due to non payment. Call them back again and ask them, less kindly this time, what the hell is going on? Get another promise of a call back. Remember, all these calls last longer than 20 mins. Eventually, I was really upset and called again. Got told it would be escalated again. I requested that I get copied in the email. I actually got the email. Again I waited patiently. I mean, how long can it take to fix what must be a small error in a large enterprise such as DSTV? To date I haven’t been called, emailed, smoke signalled, or even snail mailed. Is this how they treat paying customers. 0.7 seconds to disconnect but almost a month to keep a long time customer? Absolutely ******* service. The worst place to deal with in my opinion. Seems they have a bottomless pit of idiocy in their management structure and this is what causes customer satisfaction failure. Do your jobs, satellite jockeys and get me what I pay for!!!

Wow. So DSTV tries to phone me at 9am on the 30th April. I’m going into a meeting and I ask to please be called back at 15h30. No call. It’s been basically a month since my request for a new decoder, which I still don’t have and this morning, I get charged a month’s s subscription!!! How the hell do I pay for something I don’t have? DSTV I have to ask again, do you even know what you are doing?
