We started using the Dstv Internet just a little over 3 months. I started noticing that, as a person who makes sure to carry out any download or streaming activities after midnight (which is when nighttime data is supposed to kick in), our daytime data went by like a flash.
I then resorted to downloading the MyDstv app to track our usage, only to find on my dashboard that all while using midnight data to download and stream, the nighttime bundles for all 3 months appeared as untouched, while 4 top ups later in a single month, daytime data was running out like water poured into a bottomless container.
I then called Multichoice and informed them of Mt findings. Both gentlemen who assisted me suggested the best way to remedy this would be to reset my router as soon as it's midnight to activate the midnight data. This was strange because this is not the first service provider we're using for Internet, and we've previously never had to deal with the inconvenience of walking all the way to the living room at midnight to reset routers just so night data could kick in. It usually kicks in automatically.
I argued that if they know (the fact that they even have a remedy at the tip of their tongues means I wasn't the first to experience such) that their router is wired in an unconventional manner, why not communicate such upon signing up so that one makes an informed decision.
I was told my matter was escalated and they would revert back with findings within 48 hours, a turnaround time which has lapsed with no communication. However, what they have now done is unlink the internet package from our MyDstv app, leaving us with the inability to access our internet dashboard and monitor both data allocation and usage rate.
Dstv internet is fast, that I commend, but it's fast at a cost.
Another thing is their prices change when you view a breakdown of your statements when managing your payments on the app.
A total disaster.
I want to be reimbursed for daytime data that was carried through to nighttime when midnight data was supposed to kick in.
All nighttime data for all 3 months is still in tact to the last digit, while daytime runs out in a blink, demanding a top up to carry us through the month, which dstv benefits from. Highly impossible for a person who works mostly through the night.
Best regards,
