DStv Insurance is a money-making scheme

DStv offers insurance on their decoders and then tell you that if it breaks, they will only help fix the device IF THE CLIENT TOOK OUT INSURANCE. I.e. the client is not allowed to pay cash if and when it breaks.

This is an absolute money making scheme, in order to trick customers into taking out insurance for their decoders on top of their monthly premium.

If you won't fix it without insurance, why is insurance not included, at least for Premium customers!?

Thank you for your response. To sell insurance to your customer, and then to tell the customer that if she does not take out the insurance, then DStv will not be willing to help the customer in the future, even if the customer is willing to pay cash if and when a problem arises. Perhaps that’s not ‘forcing’, but it definitely borders on manipulation. That’s why I call it a ‘money making scheme.’
