DSTV *********** staff refusing to process refund,

I haven't been using DStv since 2015/2016 for some obvious personal reasons, of which below represent who they actually are and not what they claim to be.

Last month, 6th of June, I went to PnP/BP garage to pay subscription into StarSat account. Unfortunately an *********** teller insisted on requesting my ID despite being told that StarSat subscription does not require ID for payment. I eventually gave her the number just to speed up the query and avoid seemingly causing a scene. She then made the payment to my DStv account despite being told that the payment isn't meant for Multichoice's Dstv. When I asked for a refund, she told me the garage doesn't process refunds and instructed me to contact Multichoice

Hour later I lodged a query with DStv via Twitter and got a speedy response from someone who signed off as VM. I was given a whole list of items required including Initials and Surname, ID copy, Bank statement,Proof of payment, Cellphone number, etc. I provided some of those items via same medium, i,e, Twitter and the rest via email. Each time I interacted with them, I got different staff member asking exactly the same thing that the previous person asked. I probably dealt with more than eight people, asking exactly same thing that I already provided. Some even so *********** that they refused to accept letter from banker proving details of my banking details and wanted banking statement, some insisted on giving them Initials and Surname despite that being on the ID provided, etc. Someone made statement as foolish as " As a cash paying customer, your payment method needs to be a debit order customer" I mean, why should I be forced to sign for debt order if I prefer paying via EFT, or retailer, etc?

It has been the whole month now and still haven't received my money, despite being told that I'd receive my money within 7 days. It really makes me wonder as to why would one even bother reconnecting Dstv account given the incompetency of the team, repetitive content which is not only poor but expensive. I want my money back, despite how small it is.

Here is a list of signoffs that I got from Twitter: VM, LS, ZAN, MKN Interactions via emails include: Precioius Ndwalaza, *****gwa Maeko. Some were only signed off as Dstv Help.

I feel very bad for some of the staff that I interacted with via email, because I rated them extremely poor. I could not pretend that I was happy with their service, but at the same time it wasn't fault of their own that they were using inefficient processes and systems from their employer, Multichoice. It cannot be that in this didgital age that 10 different people ask same things that were provided many times. Why was it made it appear as if it was impossible to trace email trail as well as Twitter trail

Never in this age in time will I ever regard an automated copy & paste statements such as above as a response. Would the above statement been in place had I not taken a time to lodge a complaint through this platform?

I needed a proper response as in last month, not another mere promise to get back to me.

I did mention that I would be lodging a complaint here should my query not get resolved before the 20th of June, and now you wanna to pretend as is you were not warned that I'll write about my dissatisfaction here in Hellopeter. Given all the time your team had,to me it appears as if you decided to fold hand expect my query to disappear. Given the current as well as the imminent competition, surely this is not best way of running a successful business.

The money is quite insignificant for the effort that I have put in since my our first interaction, but it is not about the money but matter of principle, lack of professionalism, incompetency, inefficient systems and processes, etc

Hi Jo,

We tried to contact you on the number *** but we could not get hold of you.

We received a payment of R210.00 on the 6th of June 2020, but you had an outstanding balance of R150.84 when you stopped using the DStv service. The payment went into paying the outstanding amount and you are only left with a credit of R59.16.

We can only refund R59.16.

Regards

What the hell are you talking about by me owing you R150? As mentioned on my opening statement, I haven't used your services since 2015/2016 and why are you mentioning this amount only now. Who owes Dstv anyway, because your service is strictly prepaid? You always disconnected the service when the service was not paid at a set date.

When was the outstanding balance issue ever going to be raised or addressed with me. Now that it has been five years you conveniently think it appropriate to tel me about an amount that I absolutely had no knowledge of. I am also finding it very interesting that the tell me about a nicely sounding random amount of R150, and why not pecu**** amount such as R73.19 or something.

I need a full itemised breakdown of that amount.

I am yet to receive a respond to an itemised description of where the debt came from as well as receipt of the money. Nothing had been forthcoming since I lodged this complaint here. This makes me wonder even more about the validity of the statement made when they decided to answer privately. The whole purpose seem to create an impression that the issue was resolved, while it is still is unresolved as it was when I first lodged my complaint.
