Dstv has made it impossible for me to downgrade my package.

1st I cannot do this on any of your self-service options and eventually I decide to call. Everything had upgrade package but nothing for downgrading. When I call, the option I need gives me a Watsapp number which couldn't help because it kept asking for my surname despite that I kept typing the correct answer and it wouldn't move on to a different verification question so I assume this was a chat bot and not a real human.

So now I call again to speak to a consultant who explains to me that billing has already been run so I had to wait to be disconnected so that by the time I downgrade I pay the re-connection and the daily rate for the days when the current viewing was still available post the billing date. Cool, perfect sense

Now I'm disconnected and I call to reconnect on the desired package with agreement to pay for the above related costs but I'm told I have to wait for the 28th because the system doesn't allow you to change packages before the billing date which is the 28th for me.

If you can open an account on any day why can't you change packages easily as well considering that there is a daily rate factored into your billing. Now i must sit without service for the rest of the month while I wait for the 28th. The lady on the call further says that I would be asking her to commit ***** if i say she must close my current account and create a new one for me because my credentials would be the same. But I'm really not getting the logic behind this. I want to be reconnected but not at the current services and as it stands I must have the current package or no DsTv for me. and I might as well set a reminder for the 28th if I wanna continue using your services. I don't understanding this business model and I feel like I have to beg you for your services and play by your rules. This is bad customer care because quite frankly I must just do what you say or watch Netflix
