DSTV false advertising and enforcing extra costs

First I would like to address false advertising by DSTV. There is no shop that will advertise something you do not give them as a company. I bought a decoder at Ackermans for R649, advertise as a decoder that uses a smart card. But together with that decoder, was advertised a decoder that does not take a smartvard, at R449. I took the decoder with smart card, thinking activation will be easier. Only to get home and find d out it does not take a smart card. Secondly, the new decoder only has one inlet for an LNB cable, which is not shown on the box anywhere, while the only decoders have 2 inlets (LNB and RF). I did not have a problem paying the installer R350 to install the new decoder, but when they arrived I then had to pay an extra R400 for connectors and a splitter so that he can connect the 2 cables. So I endednup spending R649 plus R750 quick makes R1 399 do a new decoder, where I could have just bought the decoder for R449 (saved 200). And if I could see that the decoderhad only 1 LNB inlet, I would have asked and therefore made a budget for the connectors for another tim, because on top of all this we are on a premium plan. If you check decoders on the Ackermans site right now, you will see decoders with smart card, but when you call DSTV, they will tell you they no longer make those decoders.
