DSTV Explora complaint: ambush marketing and false advertising the saga continues without end in sight ?

My mother received an sms claiming that she owes Multichoice more than R 13 000 on a Dstv Explora contract which she had cancelled after discovering that they marketed falsely. When she signed up she was told on three separate occasions that there will be no connection or installation charges, which turned out to be lies! The decoder arrived and she couldn't connect it due Tia need for installation. She immediately contacted them to cancel contract. This was in April 2015. All of a sudden she receives an sums claiming she owes them is huge sum. This is unacceptable and I have logged a complaint, but we have done so on at least 4 occasions previously, but clearly they don't act as instructed. Unacceptable and the matter needs to be resolved.

This saga has been going on for 2 years already. I have complaint on numerous occasions and yet Dstv fails to resolve and to deliver on their promise to collect the explora which was sent to us after lying during their marketing campaign and false advertising and sales pitches. I am now considering obtaining an interdict on Monday against Dstv. Dstv has failed to make arrangements to collect the explora yet have now handed us over to a credit recovery company. Unacceptable.

I am utterly disgusted with DSTV. After they have finally made arrangements with On the Dot to phone me yesterday to arrange for collection of the Explora which then did get collected, my aged mother received a phone call form some attorney telling her that she has been handed over to him by you!!!!! I am so angry and I have had enough of their useless, *********** staff. This has to be immediately sorted out or else I will instruct my attorney to take you to court and I will insist that we get a costs order against you as well. This ******* ends here and it ends now. DSTV get your act together !

This saga is still continuing- despite the Explora decoder having been collected by DSTV or its agents, my mother is now receiving phone calls from some credit company demanding payment in excess of R 20 000,00 for this deal, which was never activated. I am at my wits end, her health is quite bad at the moment and this will send her to an early grave. Do we really have to go to court to get this resolved???
