DSTV Desperate for Money

I had DSTV more than 8 years ago and I had to cancel the account because I moved and never reactivated the account.

After more than 8 years I am now getting phone calls and SMS's that I owe them money.

HOW IS IT THAT AFTER 8 YEARS AND NO PHONE CALLS OR EMAILS THEY ARE NOW COMING UP WITH A STUPID AMOUNT LIKE R160.

BTW, who advises them legally because the prescription act clearly states the following...

In terms of the Prescription Act 68 of 1969 ("the Act"), "debts" prescribe after a period of 3 years. In order to avoid losing the legal right to enforce a claim (payment of a "debt"), a creditor must interrupt prescription by instituting proceedings against a debtor before the end of the 3 year period.

This is extremely unprofessional!!!!!!!, worst part is the lady that phoned me doesnt even understand what I was trying to tell her.
