Dstv decoder not always responding

Good day My PVR decoder most of the time does not want to respond to my remote or is slow to respond to the remote. The Call center have said that I must reset my decoder but it does not work. i am a premium subscriber and will have to look at other option such as show-max because it is to much of a hassle to struggle like this after a long day of work. Please could we remedy the situation Thanks
