DSTV Decoder claim-NMS insurance-non compliant service.
I reported my faulty decoders on 28 March 2024. I do have device insurance on both my decoders-with insurance in place for the past 24 years-insurance are via Multichoice themself-NMS Service. I have sent aproximately 25 e-mails,phoned the claims department several times-only to be notified on Wednesday 10 April that an installer was identified, and that 2 new decoders would be installed on 11 April 2024. When I phoned the installer-he notified me that he does not have money to buy new decoders? And stated that he informed the claims department of it the previous day.He also stated that DSTV makes empty promises to clients. How on earth does Multichoice select an installer-who does not have the finances to do the Job?And if it an insurance claim-the money should have been paid to him? Or as several consultants said that the new decoders will be delivered from Johannesburg to the installer.Further more there are no decoders available in Klerksdorp for more than 4 weeks-and if you change your decoder, you only get a refurbished decoder and NOT A NEW one.
Everyone is telling a different sorry-make false promises,-pologies for the inconvenience-but not a single person solves my problem, In the meantime-I still pay my subscription as well as my insurance policy-not to have a service as today for 18 days. On telephonic enquiry on Thursday 11 April-the agent at Complaints said another installer would be appointed-but to my absolute dissapointment-nothing happened, An email on Friday stated "we have escalated the claim further to our installer section for a follow up of missed appointment" It was not a missed appointment-it was an installer who does not have funds to do the job-However this is an insurance claim? How do deliver such a non co,plaint pathetic service(you cannot even call it service)-it is empty promises and excuses and blame shifting.
On phoning the claims department on ***(where you have to jump through many hoops-just to be able to speak to a person-)the recording specifies that all agents are authorised, trained.work under supervision,NMS do have professional indemnity etc. I am beyond helpless and to me this whole insurance department at Claims are not capable to solve an easy insurance claim. What infuriate me the most is all the lies/false promises/different stories. I am like a sitting duck.. Please assist me in solving this neverending sircus of DSTV Decoder insurance. And to give me an answer on me paying my account for the past 3 weeks and not having a service.

I just spoke to the claims department at Multi Choice-to one of the device insurance specialist-and to my utmost shock had to find out that only today a new installer will be identified, whereby this installer has to accept the job, then only a date will be confirmed for installation.(Please remember it has been 18 days since I reported the faulty decoders)
This whole insurance sounds very shady and completely disorganized-and no one is able to take a descision-everyone "escalate"this problem to a next department or a supervisor.
But none of the responsible persons come back with an answer?
It is blame shifting non stop.
And DSTV 's reply above is just the exact same answer:
-We are attending to it
-Feedback will be communicated.
-Sorry for your inconvenience
I truly hope that reporting this issue on this platform will be my solution for the pathetic service I received from DSTV claims department.
