DSTV Customer Service Centre is run by clowns

I watched with utter disappointment as the circus played itself out at Multichoice this past Saturday. To say I’m disappointed is even an understatement. Multichoice has people who were appointed as managers/Supervisors, whom I believe shouldn’t have been appointed because they are utterly useless, unprofessional and simply don’t know what it means to be supervisors.

I have been paying for a DSTV via Eft since 2012. It is not mine, It was for my late uncle. He passed on in 2013 but I’m still paying for it to date. I went there to ask them to do a change of ownership and to add a second decoder to that one since my younger brother, who has also purchased a decoder wanted us to do an Extra View. Which means that both decoders, my late uncle’s and my younger brother’s, were going to be under my name. And it was also discovered that on my late Uncle’s decoder there’s a credit of about R500. That was due to extra payment I’d been making every month.

When I went there on January 7, a guy named Thozama who is a supervisor explained to me that I’d need a letter of execution in order for the decoder to be moved to my and he even made me to go to the bank to get bank statement as proof that indeed I was paying for my Uncle’s DSTV. Then the finance people from Multichoice promised me that the money will be moved from my Uncle’s account to the other account. BUT THAT NEVER HAPPENED. The *********** Thozama even promised that he’d see to it and would even monitor this transaction but he never did.

The next thing I knew is the services got cut off and that prompted me to go back to DSTV this past Saturday. There I met up with one downright ***********, rude and unprofessional manager named Tshidi. That woman has an attitude for days and her customer service is beyond bad. As frustrated as I was, and because of the cutting of the services all that she could say to me was how wrong I was to continue paying for my late uncle’s DTSV services as if I had committed TREASON. She told me in no uncertain terms that no credit would be transferred unless I brought the letter of execution. I’d have expected her to go out of her way to assist and even ease up my frustration. Instead she made things worse. She wasn’t even prepared to hear me out and she even rudely moved me to the back benches. And that was a sign that she had no time for unimportant people like me

As a last resort I asked to speak to a guy named Karabo, he’s a newbie there. He’s the one I spoke to the first time I got there on January 7. And he’s the one who referred me Thozama. Karabo was the hero of the day, he really helped me. He brought a smile to my face, he singlehandedly dealt with my issue and even went to speak to the finance people to assist. That pompous Tshidi was loitering around and not even willing to take it upon herself as a so-called manager to assist. She’s not even hands on at all.

Once again I’d like to say thank you to Karabo. Thozama and Tshidi need to be reprimanded especially Tshidi. Mutlichoice even decided to cut off the services for more than seven days and Tshidi couldn’t even explain it, she doesn’t know her work. Multichoice must stop appointing people to managerial position without training them.
