DSTV cheating PVR users by degrading Catchup

DSTV are short changing users with PVR decoders in a bid to arm twist us to by the newer Explora. Features that used to work when the PVR was the top dog have been tempered with and deliberately degrading or made the feature inferior. For example, they no longer bother to update the Catchup recordings - this week they deliberately filled it up with ******* and increased the expiry date to 17/10/2015 so that for two weeks you don't get any new sport recordings in Catchup. This used to work well until the Explora came.

I wont buy the Explora because I will be forced touse internet recording which costs another R700 in ADSL and Internet costs. The PVR works perfect for me as I can record one channel and watch another unlike the Explora.

Hello doogiek,

We apologise for the delayed response and the inconvenience caused in this regard.

Please be informed that Explora has the bigger capacity which can load 60 hours of series and 30 movies. Whereas another model of an HD PVR has the capacity to load only 20 hours series.

For this reason, it's not possible to load all DStv Catch Up recordings due to the capacity available on the other model of HD PVR.

We would like to you for the feedback which will be sent to the relevant department for consideration.

Thank you for taking your time to contact us.
