DSTV call centre frustration!
I have for the past 4 months trying to get DSTV to correct my Price Lock (fixed for 2 years) premium. Despite email promises and Hello Peter responses, my debit order has still not been corrected, nor have I been refunded for the over-charge. In an attempt to correct this, I have received the following emails from the call center:- Dec 10 - "Kindly be advised that the account was adjusted on our side and the amount due on the 03/01/2020 is R850, we apologise for the inconvenience caused and the delay." Dec 11 - "Please be advised that going forward your account will be billed correctly R9940from February 2020. Once again apologies for the inconveinience." (Note the typos!) Dec 12 - "Kindly note that you have a credit of R25.00. Therefore the amount to be paid on the 3/01/2020 will be R969.00. Regards Tshepo Maoba
The R850 adjustment came close to correcting the total over-charge and when I pointed this out, the January 2020 premium was increased! Basic arithmetic clearly not a Call Center forte! I queried this immediately but have yet to receive a response. There is not a lot of money involved, but I am a pensioner and every Rand counts! And there is a principle involved - I am not the only Price Lock customer to be over-charged, judging from media reports. I urge DSTV subscribers to boycott Box Office rentals until such time as DSTV gets its act together and deny them the extra income BO brings!
