DSTV Call Centre Agents needs to up their "Customer Service" game.
So on 29 December 2023 I decided to reactivate my subscription to watch AFCON. The service was reconnected with a reconnection fee and pro-rata paid. Furthermore, I've downgraded to DSTV Access for January 2024 and then a further downgrade to the R29.00 package for February 2024. Paid R250.00 rounded off to cover the above arrangement with the understanding that my next payment would be due on 2 March 2024.
On 2 February 2024 I get an SMS from DSTV that payment is due otherwise service will be disconnected. I specifically downgraded to their cheapest package to avoid their reconnection fees which is more than the package. Then I decided to call in order to resolve. The Call Centre Agent then informs me that on October 2023 that I didn't pay by the 2nd they didn't disconnect service and therefore there's no credit left to cover February 2024 as agreed, calculated and paid on 29 December 2023 with the 1st Call Centre Agent. When I gave him the breakdown he decided to drop the call, needless to say I couldn't watch the Bafana game. My question is, how do you get two different versions for the same account? They (DSTV) already priced themselves out of the market but to combine it with poor customer service that's like operating under the ANC government where you pay for services but there's no delivery.
Channels active on 3 February ***101 was added after the consultant dropped the call.
