Dstv bulkying my 81 year old mother
My father recently passed away, now my mother is struggling to change the debit order to her bank account since 9 October 2023. After calling them, She e-mailed them and then Dstv insisted on getting my dead father's signature in order to change the debit order. I can not express how traumatic this was for her. I stepped in, send them the death certificate and they send the change of ownership.
Now for the past week I am struggling as they insist my mother pay an amount of R43 BEFORE they will call for the debit order. They of course do not WANT to add this amount to the debit order.
Yesterday after I could not take the back and forth communication, asked tat a manager call me as I wanted to explain that even if they did tell my mom to pay and she asked for the banking information, this does not mean she will be able to just jump in the car and go pay! She asked for it as she told me she is really did not know what else to do, my father always handled these situations. Needless to say neither me or my 81 year old mom got the call after they said they did give our information to a Supervisor.
She was married to my father for 61 years and lost her husband and friend for the past 64 years, now she must change ownership and endure this pathetic bullying from DSTV and everyday she suffers the loss of his death all over again.
This after the fact the person giving her the banking details, PROMISED her she would be able to watch dstv on monday, she still has no signal.
