Dstv and their accredited installers not trustworthy

Few weeks back I purchased an explora decoder so that I can have two decoders on two separate rooms under one subscription. I requested that the decoders get linked for extraview and the new decoder was made the primary decoder. I then got someone (private) to come and install the smart LNB as I already had the Dish set up. The LNB was installed and signal were correct.

Then last week I get someone private to set up extraview for me so that both decoders can play, installed a cable to a secondary decoder but it was not playing because the primary decoder was not properly paired. The when I complained that the primary decoder was not properly paired the guy who assisted me told me that I should get an accredited installer so that they come and fix my extraview connections.

I went to Louigis Dstv in Kuruman with both my decoders, the guy without testing the decoders told me that he will send people to come take a look at my connections and also gave me his boss's numbers. I contacted the boss and asked him to come check the connections. He told me if he can't make it he will send his installers. So he did send installers. when they came the guy noticed that the primary decoder was not linked properly so he called the shop to link it.

Then the decoders were linked properly because then I did notice that the primary decoder was trying to communicate with the secondary decoder. After that they changed the frequency settings. They told me I must wait a bit and it will play and for that I was charged R450. On the receipt it was noted Callout plus Labour.

I complained to multichoice that I have paid the extraview fee plus I got an accredited installer to come fix my connections as they suggested but the decoder is still not playing. The guy called me from Dstv and told me he will speak to the installers and tell them they did an incomplete job. He tried to reach out to them but couldn't reach them so he told me he would leave the ticket open and would try to call them again and tell them to go complete the job. He told me they were supposed to have installed a diplexer for the extraview to work and the callout fee was less than R200. I further explained that I actually paid the R450 for nothing because the decoder is still not playing. He said he would get back to me but never did.

I reached out to Mr Louigis to explain how we spoke with multichoice and what they say he must do because they said he was supposed to install the diplexer when went there and that the R450 I paid was supposed to cover it. Mr Louigis, the accredited installer in Kuruman agreed that he will go sort it himself on Monday and the guy working for him also texted me and said they will go install the diplexer once they get it. I told them that I won't be at home but someone else will be. Mr Louigis said he will call me once he is at my home but he never did instead he took advantaged and told the woman present at home that she should buy a diplexer for R250 for them to come and install it and also said she must buy a new model decoder for R450 because the one we are using will be off the market next year. He also said that he will go set up extraview for free if she does buy the decoder.

I reached out to Mr Louigis and asked why did he not fix the extraview like he said he would, furthermore I told him that I will take the matter further if he doesn't sort this out. He said to me I should go ahead and take the matter further. He said it as if he doesn't care that he charged me R450 for nothing. I escalated the matter to Dstv and they said they have re-escalated it with urgency. I was waiting to hear the solution regarding this but no one contacted me and still now no feedback.

Dstv does not hold their accredited installers accountable for their actions and yet whenever we contact the they suggest we call the accredited installers. I am so angry that I paid their accredited installers for nothing because they say I paid for labour but which labour because the decoder is still not playing. This Dstv accredited installers only cares about money, does not care enough to sort out the client's issues.

Dstv does not handle anything with urgency and care. All I know is that I am not paying anything extra because I have already paid the accredited installers and they didn't do anything valuable and also paid R100 for extraview to Dstv. I deeply disappointed at Dstv and their accredited installer. I feel they are taking advantage because they know we need their services.
