DSTV has decided in their wisdom to discontinue the monthly magazine. I do not have the time or the inclination to scroll through the channels that interest me on a daily or weekly basis, mindlessly clicking a remote. I prefer to glance through a magazine to make my choice. However, I am left with no option but to do this. My problem is I cannot log in to any of DSTV's platforms to do this, as my log in details are incorrect. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to change this myself, and have contacted DSTV on many, many occasions, over several months, via email, telephone and live chat. Every person I have spoken to has promised to rectify my problem but no one does. I get a request to complete a survey after every interaction, and despite rating my experience as zero, my problem still persists. Eventually, Nokuthulo Nhlapo phoned me in response to my adverse comments on their survey, and assured me she would have my log in details corrected. She phoned me back to say they had deleted my profile, but my cell phone number still appears in the email address section, and I still cannot log in to any platform. She asked for a screen shot, which I duly sent her, and have heard nothing further despite phone calls to her (which go unanswered) as well as emails, with the same result.
As customers, we keep hearing how much we are ********** by DSTV as they have a monopoly, but I noted with interest their grand fanfare around the fact that they are not increasing their charges this year, I assume this is not out of the goodness of their hearts, but in an effort to hang on to their customer base, which is obviously being eroded due to other competitors entering the South African market.
I can't even pretend to be astounded at the lack of service from this company, as I have come to expect nothing more from them over the years I have been their customer.
