DSTV
I've been trying to sort out a DSTV account for my Dad since 22 May 2020.
The account was in my Mom's name. She passed away on 20 May 2020. We have called various DSTV centres on numerous occasions starting 22 May 2020, sent many emails attaching all requested documents including banking details, signatures, change of ownership etc., and paid a direct amount for three months so that he could at least have some thing to keep him company during the lockdown.
The DSTV was turned off last night without any notification.
The Pretoria call centre could not help stating that we need to "walk-in" to a service center. I live 550km away from my Dad and the nearest store is about 140km from my home. They couldn't help further except to say that the process takes very long and that I should try to get to a store.
The Johannesburg centre does not have access to the "change of ownership", and could not transfer my call to anyone that did. She said she'd "escalate" the problem, and advised that I send yet another email.
The DSTV app for smartphones is worthless in this instance, but one needs to endure the full advert for this before each and every phone call. The medical aid was quicker to sort out!
