DSTV 4 days is your limit? Really?
On 30 January 2020 I called the Multichoice/ DSTV call centre and told them I wanted to downgrade from Premium bundle to Compact Plus. I chose the 30 th of the month as I wanted it from 1 February. The lady in the call centre told me my debit order had gone off for February already so I could only do it from 1 March. I argued that it could be from 1 February and then I would just have a credit in my account but no way- can't be done. So I accepted 1 March to downgrade.
On 28 February the lower subscription for Compact Plus comes off my bank account so I think all is in order. On 6 March I turn on my dstv decoder and get a message that I am arrears in my DSTV subscription payment.
I call the call centre again. The operator calls himself "Wonderboy" so I think that could be a good start. I was wrong. I am informed that one can only give notice to change 4 days before your debit order date and because I gave mine on 30 January it lapsed by 1 March. I must now have Premium for another month and 4 days before the end of March I can give notice again.
I cannot understand how their debit order department takes less money off my account for Compact Plus but they claim I gave notice too far in advance?
Come on Multichoice. You can turn on a DSTV in minutes and you argue you can't downgrade a package once the debit order has gone off and not before 4 days before the next debit order. What nonsense!!! I then tell "Wonderboy" to cancel my DSTV subscription so he goes off to discuss with his supervisor - do you think that is "Wonderman"? and comes back and says if I pay an extra R70 they will downgrade me.
No DSTV get your act together this is the 21 st century and your business is VERY computer run. Allow people to downgrade IMMEDIATELY and have a credit in their account if they have paid for the month or part thereof. I bet if I wanted to UPGRADE I could do it immediately...…..
