It is with absolute disgust and frustration that I request you to please publish this article.

I am sick and tired of Major Organisations (in this case I am referring to DSTV Multichoice) whom have an attitude of “pay or else”. Without the loyal support from their subscribers, Multichoice would not exist, and it is with contempt that I have to say that their attitude leaves me feeling rather sick.

After many years of being a loyal subscriber, I was approached by Multichoice to sign up for a Debit Order. This, I politely did, only to find out that the person with whom I was communicating, was obviously not experienced enough to make sure that my Debit Order would be correctly loaded. This I voluntarily did in order that I did not have to worry any more about paying my monthly subscription via EFT.

As I do not scrutinize my Bank Statements every month with a fine comb, I overlooked not seeing that the Debit Order was not active. This obviously carried on for many months, without me ever having picked it up.

After applying for a loan from a Financial Institute, I was gob-smacked when my application was turned down due to me having been placed on ITC. After numerous telephone calls, which in its own was very time consuming (held on for minimum of 15-20 minutes per call) I was finally told by Multchoice that the problem lay on these side and that they would rectify it as soon as possible.

Instead of trying to make arrangements to pay off the amount of R10K, I decided to settle the account in full. After numerous calls requesting Multichoice to forward me a letter of apology so that I could have my name reinstated, I still find myself without a response. Even after admitting that the fault lay with Multichoice, they still did not as much as even offer to assist me in this matter and I was obviously just regarded as another “paying client” whom needs us more than we need them attitude. This is my personal feeling…!!!!

Once my contract period is up, I will definitely be cancelling my account with DSTV, and would never ever recommend them to anybody.

Having got this off my chest, I now finally feel better. Hopefully somebody that works for Multichoice with see this article and bring it to the attention of Management.

Regards,

Jan Viljoen.
