Don’t buy a DSTV Streama

The DSTV Streama is the biggest load of junk I have ever had the displeasure of spending my hard earned money on. I am now on the third replacement unit and guess what? After just 2 days it is already playing up. The first unit lasted 3 weeks and then simply stopped working. I took it into the DSTV agency in Cape Town where I bought it and after 30 min of repeatedly trying the same things to get it working, it was replaced with a new unit. I got home, plugged it in and couldn’t get past the remote paring step. Back to the shop I went and once again the same guy spent 30 min pushing buttons and hoping it would suddenly start working. The manager came out and the whole procedure was repeated. Reluctantly a third Streama was supp**** but this time I said I am not leaving until I see it working with my own eyes. To rub salt in the wound it then needed a software upgrade and I was told to go and have coffee somewhere and come back because it would take a long time to download the upgrade of a little over 700mb. Eventually the upgrade was completed and everything seemed to be working. Two days later the piece of ******* starts playing up, freezing every few minutes. After rebooting umpteen times I had to remove the batteries from the remote as the red light would not stop blinking. What a load of ****! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
