Does not honour warranty on decoder

Did a decoder swap on my parents decoder.. Paid R1000. Supposed to have a 6 month warranty. Hard drive stopped working after 1 week on xplora ultra. Dstv does not want to honour the warranty and refuses to replace decoder due to a fault on their system saying warranty expired in june altough decoder was bought in august from multichoice.
