Dissatisfied customer with device streaming limit
I am formally lodging a complaint regarding the device limitations when accessing the DSTV Now App. Upon enquiring with the Multichoice Customer Service Centre, I was informed that the restriction was enforced due to the unauthorized access to some accounts. In order to restrict access to allow authorized access only, the one device limit imposed. In my opinion this was the incorrect approach in dealing with the ********** activity. The correct approach would be to allow the maximum of 4 devices as before which can be managed from the DSTV Now app, but with a security feature which notifies the account holder of all devices that are currently using the service. Should there be any unauthorized device being used, then the account holder can immediately logout the unauthorized device. This is the same principle with accessing a Google account from a specific device which automatically notifies the account holder to confirm the access. If unknown the Google account holder can logout the unknown or unauthorized device. Surely Multichoice has the technology to make this capability available to its customers. This device limitation, together with annual price adjustments, as well as peristent programme repeats, discontinuation of channels, and now also movie interruptions to allow for ads, is surely annoying customers to the point of canceling their subscriptions. The only saving grace is the broadcasting of major sport events. Had this not been the case, then 80% of subscribers would have longed cancelled. My sincere wish is that Multichoice Management takes this matter into serious consideration to win back the confidence of all the dissatisfied customers. This will be achieved by restoring the service to 4 devices for concurrent streaming, but a security safety feature.
