Disrespectful Customer Treatment by Harriet Tshabalala of Multichoice Dstv

Multichoice, Please train your Team Leaders business acumen and client care.

I spoke to a Team Leader, Harriet Tshabalala who seemingly has no interest in seeing dstv grow or retain clients. I paid my subscription fee bit late, but before viewing was disconnected. I paid for the full month's subscription anyway. I noticed an extra R50 charge on my account and called in to query it. They said it was reconnection fee but the service wasnt disconnected, i paid before disconnection. So I request that they reverse the R50 fee bcos the subscription for premium package is already so steep, i cant be paying penalties too. If they insist on the penalty amount I will have to disconnect the full subscription. I ask her why do they penalise me for choosing to keep my dstv subscription up and running. This harriet lady, in a very condescending manner, tells me, no she wont reverse the R50 because i paid late and I dont have a valid reason why she should reverse the penalty, and if I want to cancel the full subscription i can go ahead and do so. To her the fact that i am charged a disconnection fee, while there was no disconnection, and the fact that i will have to cancel full subscription are not good reasons. Essentially, in her view its okay to charge a client a disconnection penalty even if the client paid before disconnection. To her it is okay to lose the company R900 over a R50. She was just so arrogant, talking to me in a tone that suggested they dont need my subscription and losing 1 subscription wont make a difference. She undermined the power of one. I guess she dont know the power of "me too", i know im not the only person unhappy with dstv's customer care, i dont think she understands that ten-thousand membership started with one member and a thousand losses also start with one.

If dstv insists on keeping the penalty on my subscription account for next payment date of 2July, i will unfortunately have to cancel dstv, bcos no way i can pay R950.
