Disgusting service from multichoice over a death in the family!

I had to give 1 star as zero stars is not an option.

My father died in April 2018, despite having a copy of his death certificate they refused to transfer the account into my mothers name. They happily changed the banking details of the account so that we would not be disconnected. Nearly 2 years later and they are still happily billing a dead man and refuse to make any changes to the account as they need to speak with the account holder. We requested to cancel the extra view as we only use one decoder, their response was that they have to speak with the account holder! I'm very sorry but as he has been dead for 2 years you cannot. We then finally obtained the letter that they requested and changed the account into my moms name. Only issue is it was not a transfer of the account, they opened a new account. We now have to pay multichoice for the new account only to be refunded the amount which came off of my account via debit order on the old account in 7 working days.

You have absolutely no sympathy for your customers, the fact that we lost the head of the house and bread winner of the family is difficult enough without the added stress of dealing with Multichoice.

I now have to physically drive to multichoice (I will not be refunded the petrol or wasted time) as it will take 7 working days to resolve the matter over the phone (another wasted 30 minutes of my life and a waste of my cellphone minutes) bearing in mind that the solution to the problem is that I must now pay multichoice an additional premium so that it can be refunded to me in 7 working days!

South Africa in general is battling financially and most people don't have an extra R1000 lying around. You should look after the customers which you have, if it weren't for your monopoly over all sports broadcasts in South Africa I would have cancelled the services years ago.
