Depiction of a profession of public interest

Dear Sir / Madam,<br> <br> It is totally unacceptable to depict the profession of pharmacy as you do on your KykNet programme, Binnelanders. It is a profession of huge public interest. The manner in which the 'pharmacist' is depicted is irresponsible and promotes a negative point of view re the profession. It is not in the public's interest to characterize a pharmacist in this manner, as the public's trust in the profession is not promoted by such characterization. <br> <br> I believe the manner in which the profession is depicted, contravenes paragraph 15 of the BCCSA Code of Conduct as the dignity and the reputation of pharmacists in South Africa is not respected. <br> <br> Warmest regards,<br> <br> De Wet Wolmarans<br> Senior Lecturer, Pharmacology<br> North-West University, South Africa
