Decoder Swap
i want to know one thing. i heard that you can swap your old decoder if it is a pvr for an explorer for free that is only if you have decoder insurance and the older single view with the hd one, so i have a 2PVR HD decoder, so may i swap for free if i have insurance, the call centre can not answer me and said i must go to dstv so i did and they wiped my decoder and could not give me any answer. The service centre is far from me and to waste my time for a wipe is unacceptable. Also i know the swap are because the older decoders does not comply with newer parts etc, so is my decoder old because dstv launched the catchup for compact customers but i can not even enjoy it, so i would think that i may get an explorer for free because i have insurance!!!

We only swap the SD PVR decoders for free provided the owner has insurance.
MultiChoice will not be able to repair the SD PVR decoder as the parts are not available any more. These decoders can't cope with the growing number of DStv services on offer, even though they were able to many years ago. We will also not be able to continue to support the software on these decoders.
Communication will be sent to our customer using the previous model of HD PVR decoders regarding the swap. We have a special whereby you can purchase an Explora decoder and pay for 24 months. Should you be interested, please SMS the word 'DPP' to 32444 (at a cost of R1 per SMS) and we'll call you back.
